Despised Icon - Montreal Assault DVD

Typically a live performance reproduced in DVD format doesn't come close to the intensity and raw energy of a great show. However Despised Icon's Montreal Assault decimates the mold, and truly is an incredible release. With a collection of brutal songs spanning 3 albums DI completely destroy Club Soda in Montreal. Although not included on the disc, the show featured such acts as Beneath The Massacre, Ion Dissonance, and more. To sound absolutely cliche this DVD is an absolute must for any DI fan, and furthermore any fan of blast beats and french speaking tough guys alike.

To begin to convey to you how blown away I was at the production, editing, and the means of recording of the set is irrelevant until you watch for yourself. Despised Icon's tight knit set is almost machine gun like. The precision and ground work laid by their drum maestro Alex Pelletier is unrivaled. The set is truly like clockwork. Perhaps by biased stance comes forth when I discuss 50% of DI's leading men, Alex Erian. Talk about being moved by vocals my friends. His tone is so tough, and so consistent that he could possibly move mountains. That is my belief, and anyone one has listened to the sextet's latest release The Ills Of Modern Man can vouch for me. This DVD is as heavy your third aunt on your mom's side, it's as brutal as fist f@#$%&* a small farm animal, and its packed with other documentary type short films and nuances. Additionally the release of their new album yet to be named has been slated for a Fall release. Thank the metal gods, and check out this DVD if you want to wake up tomorrow.
