Holyfield

Kelly: So.. How you guys doing? You all still friends? We need to clear the air.. WHAT is happening?
Ry Ry: Well I hate everyone...
Kelly: Where's everyone going?
Ry Ry: I'm going to Disneyland!
Aaron: I am also going to Disneyland.
Tony: So this is what happened, okay? This is my version of it. We started this band with a lot of high hopes, and I think really positive goals, right?
New Heights starts sound checking...
Aaron: SHUT UP!!!! And New Heights just poops on the interview...(Pause) For the record I love everyone in New Heights.
Tony: ...we thought we put out a really good CD and everything was really positive and we got a lot of support from our friends and family, and everything was going great... For me personally, I got offered a chance to do some big tours that we currently aren't getting offered, so for me I just thought of it as a business opportunity.
Kelly: Well at least you're not lying about it..
Tony: Yeah.. I just thought it was a good business opportunity and I decided to take it. So that's why I was doing it, but we never officially said that the band was broken up. I still have really high hopes of hopefully making this a successful band.
Kelly: Are you going to do it with other people? Because Aaron and Ry Ry are moving to California...
Tony: Well that's just my side of the story. That's my hope for the future. Anything can happen, and that's the risk you take when you make a business decision. You just gotta hope for the best.
Kelly: So you see it as more of a business thing?
Tony: No, no. I like everybody in Amber Pacific too, and I don't know where that's gonna go. You can't really say a lot now, you know?
Kelly: You don't feel like Holyfield was going that way? It seems like you guys were more popular than them.
Tony: I feel like Holyfield was, but it's just that they've been doing this for so long that I kind of wanted to figure out how things worked on a different level. Because I've personally been shafted for so long, and I know that everyone has just been trying so hard.
Kelly: I guess that kind of makes sense...
Tony: I don't know if it does.
Kelly: Well, it kind of does, but then it feels like you guys were doing really well and then you just kind of stopped.
Tony: I feel like our old band, Tysen, was doing well too but then we kind of got screwed. But I love these guys more than anything.

Kelly: Okay, Aaron what's your side of the story?
Matt from The Classic Crime walks in with five cases of beer
Ry Ry: YEAH BEER!
Everyone: Ayyyyy!! (Applause)
Ry Ry: Classic Crime for life! I'm gettin a tattoo!
Aaron: My side of the story is: beer.
Kelly: Oh.. my.. God..
Matt: I totally stole this from Tre. I was like, "Let me be the hero."
Ry Ry: I think your beard gives you magical beer powers!
Aaron: Umm... My side of the story isn't necessarily my side, it's just my opinion on the whole thing. We've had some time to think about it, and basically we were in a good band with good friends, and God has definitely used that as a vessel to get us to where we are now. So I don't necessarily view it as a negative thing. I really love playing in Holyfield and I love the guys in Holyfield, but I think that was kind of a stepping stone that was used to get us where we are going. Any future endeavors that we embark on together basically would be a result of that. Gets really close to the mic. So those are my feelings.

Kelly: Looks to Ry Ry, who is eating Cheez-Its Are you just indifferent?
Aaron: Ry Ry enjoys cheez-its.
Ry Ry: For the record, I'd like to state: Chipotle is the best restaurant. Taco Bell is good too, but it's for a more cheaper grimier goodness. And I love Tony and Aaron and Jin, and I hope the best for everyone.

Kelly: So you two are moving to California?
Aaron: Ry Ry and myself have presented with the opporunity to move to California to join Burning Tree Project, and it's definitely something we're excited about. And we are feeling extremely blessed.
Kelly: Are Burning Tree Project getting rid of members too?
Aaron: Uhh.. Several members of Burning Tree Project have already parted ways with the band.. So I can't really say anything about that. There's an Aaron and a Ry Ry sized hole to be filled in California. And Ryan will be playing kazoo.
Kelly: Clarinet?
Ry Ry: Gets really close to the mic I like all woodwind instruments, and I would not like to limit myself to just one.

Kelly: So, Tony, how did you start talking to Amber Pacific
Tony: I've been friends with Will, the guitarist in their band, for a long time, and their singer left and he hit me up. He was really cool about it, he never asked me to break up my band or anything like that. He was just like, "we don't have a singer," and it was an opportunity. He was really cool about it, and I thought about it, you know?

Kelly: Do you think the sound of Amber Pacific is gonna change?
Tony: It's still gonna be pop-punk... I don't know how much the sound is going to change.
Kelly: Are you still going to be a part of the writing process and everything?
Tony: Yeah, yeah.
Kelly: Are you going to be playing guitar?
Tony: Yep, it'll be a four piece.

Kelly: Okay, so now we have fan submitted questions. One: Boxers or briefs? Not my question, someone else's. Go.
Ry Ry: You know, that's a very clever, CLEVER excuse, Kelly Mason, and if I were the one who wanted to know that question I was also use that excuse. The answer is neither. (Laughter)
Aaron: The answer to your question... When I am performing everyday tasks, such as going to work, shopping for groceries, getting gas-- oh actually, when I'm outside on a normal day, I wear boxer briefs. Generally boxer briefs or BBDs... However, when I do play onstage I do wear briefs, because I can't wear boxers-briefs with my shorty shorts. But when I am around my house I prefer to be wearing zero clothes.
Ry Ry: Personal philosophy: Clothing optional.
Kelly: Uhh.. what's your address?
Tony: Once again, Kelly, if you want his address you can ask him after the interview.
Aaron: Yeah, is that also a fan submitted question? Laughter

Kelly: Alright, we have a couple more questions. What is the most unique thing a fan has done for you?
Ry Ry: We usually just get funny stories about people who come and say they lied to their parents to come.. One said their friend committed suicide.. It's all written down on this piece of paper that one of our fans made for us. Where is it? Aaron gets the poster. "We told Shannon's mom Becca committed suicide so we could go to Seattle to see you on February 17th, 2008" I'd say that's pretty unique.
Kelly: What?!
Aaron: This is a nice gift from "Pooface Amy"
Ry Ry: Our fans are cool, they always come and bring us Cheez-Its and Mountain Dew.
Aaron: Someone did create a fake Myspace of me... That was kind of.. unique.
Ry Ry: We've all had fake Myspaces made of us.

Kelly: If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be?
Aaron: Can it be a fictional person?
Kelly: Uh, it depends.
Aaron: I would like to meet Shaggy, from Scooby Doo.
Ry Ry: I want to meet Harry Potter!
Aaron: Oh no no, I want to meet Tyra Banks so I could punch her in the face.
Kelly: Why?
Aaron: Because I don't think anybody should love themselves as much as Tyra Banks loves herself.
Ry Ry: That's pretty hateful actually. That's a pretty aggressive thing to say.
Aaron: Yeah.

Kelly: Hmm.. Anymore questions?
Aaron: I will no longer be filling in for Upon Beauty Rests. Laughter and applause.
Ry Ry: WOW!! I love that you said that.
Aaron: I would just like to say that for some reason there's a lot of rumors that I am joining every band in Seattle.

Kelly: Alright, so this is getting a little ridiculous. Anything you'd like to say before we wrap this up?
Aaron: Holyfield doesn't hate each-other, Tony's in Amber Pacific..
Tony: And Jin's going back to school to be a doctor.
Ry Ry: He's gonna help us deal with all our depression in 30 years.
Aaron: And he'll be making more money than all of us. Together.
Kelly: And where can people buy your music?
Tony: iTunes, and on the Myspace.
Ry Ry: And Holyfield will still play shows.
Tony: But just not right now. And I'm gonna do some acoustic shows.
Kelly: Sweet, well thanks guys!
