To be quite honest, this year's Folklife was kind of a bummer. The weather just did NOT want to let up for a few days so everyone could enjoy the entertainment and food that Folklife has to offer. Regardless, my boyfriend, Simon, and I went out on Saturday and Sunday to shop, eat, and watch people show off their talents.
Even though it was raining, I still wanted to take some photos to remember the weekend by. These are on my
Flickr as well.

I don't think these kids were even supposed to perform. They were just banging on bottles and cans and skateboards while chanting about the people walking by (e.g. "CAMERA! CAMERA!" when Simon and I passed). The second time we walked by they had a HUGE crowd, and it looked like they had raked in a pretty good chunk of money. The kid in the red was the ringleader, if you can't tell.

..then people with REAL instruments eventually came to help the kids out..

Sword swallower. You can see the shape of the sword in his neck. BLEH.

Steel drum lesson!

Roasted corn is hands down the best festival food ever.

Yeeeeeeah accordion!
