That's right, ladies and gentlemen... this coming Saturday is officially
Record Store Day. Never mind the fact that the founder of this day totes the same name as a certain Rihanna-beater (*cough* Chris Brown *cough*); just get out there and buy some music for once in your life!
There are many participating stores in Seattle, and some shops are even hosting live performances in celebration of the event. For example,
Minus the Bear will be playing at Sonic Boom in Seattle, and I just found this out and now my heart is shattered into a million pieces because I have to work all day on Saturday. WHY ME?
Anyway, there are a ton of other retailers around the country. To find out about your city, just check out the Record Store Day
website.
Don't just take my word for it;
here is a gigantic list of artist testimonials who are advocates for this musical holiday--I mean, who wouldn't promote something that positively influences the sale of their music?
Edit: And as a lovely anonymous commenter pointed out, make sure you are visiting RECORD STORES and not chain stores like FYE! Keep the independent stores alive!
