A message to every band I have ever listened to. Namely Alexisonfire. Okay, only Alexisonfire.

Garrett reminded me that the new Alexisonfire CD is coming out next month, so I decided to head to their Myspace to check out Young Cardinals: the obviously kick-ass single that the band took three years to release.

Oh wait, did I say kick-ass? Screw that. I meant borderline Avenged Sevenfold bullshit that I wish I could pretend I didn't hear. But it's too late. My mind has been tainted. What has been heard cannot be unheard. I keep listening to the song expecting my ears (and broken heart) to magically adapt to this style that, as far as I know, went out of style years ago. What happened, Alexisonfire? Your single is worrisome. All I wanted was a step beyond Crisis!, not a leap that sent you flailing off the nearest cliff.

Now, I'm not trying to count my chickens before they hatch here, so I am going to leave this subject alone until I hear the rest of the CD. Hopefully AOF is just playing a cruel joke on us all, but I will keep you posted. I know you are as worried as I am.
