First off, can I say how much I do not like Green Day? Does anyone else agree with me?!
I'm disappointed by the Grammy's, for this is the AWARD show, the face of "music". I really don't care about people who can't sing, dance, or move a crowd. But seriously, since when did cencoring Eminem become such a unknown concept? When did the great Stevie Nicks become Taylor Swift's backup singer? Why is Travis Barker playing drums for Drake & Lil Wayne? Who is T. Pain really? Lady Gaga + Elton John? WHAT IS THIS MADNESS!!!
Well, anyways, tonight I watched the Grammy's on CBS (ya!). It was quiet an interesting bit, if I do say. This might be so because I watched it on a big screen TV with 20 other people who come from different cultures and backgrounds. Yes, I watched the Grammy's in the basement of my dorm hall. Believe me when I say this but... I think there's something wrong in the music industry.
Take for example, the artist P!nk. She is a DANG good singer. She is a GREAT performer. But seriously, lip syncing? Didn't that go out in the early 2000s with Britney Spears and all that hair she shaved off? I mean, come on! We're living in 2010! Make it look like you're actually singing and not keeling over out of breath because you performed upside down. JEEZ.
And where would an award show be without celebs!? But come on, Adam Sandler and friends, if you're going to present an award, don't get drunk! It just makes you look stupid sitting up there on stage staring at the prompter when your eyes look crazzzzyyyyy.
Of course we all have our agrees and disagrees, but music industry, tell me this, what is going to happen to the next generation when they look at the shadow you've cast? Will they see good music or will they see glitter, alcohol, and a whole lot of meaninglessness. Is that what music is... meaningless? Isn't music supposed to stir something UP in you and cause you to be MOVED? Does anyone feel like I do? Does anyone feel the same?
