Concerts for a cause: Take Action Tour 2010

As a teenager, my two favorite times of the year were around Warped Tour and Take Action, because I knew that with those tours came kickass compilation albums at a low, low price of $6. Every year. These albums never let me down, and I would always end up finding a band to support that I had never given a chance before. To be quite honest, not much has changed between then and now-- I still get stoked for Warped Tour, and Take Action still does a great job of raising money for those in need. I mean seriously, how can you say no?

This year's Take Action Compilation is available now for pre-order, and the lineup is just as awesome as ever. Check out the Hopeless merch shop for pre-order options. The album alone is $6, but for another $6 you can get a t-shirt as well. Sounds like a bargain to me.

Because there is no way I can do this justice, here is an excerpt from the Take Action website:
The charity spotlighted for Take Action in 2010 is Driving For Donors, the brainchild of now 14-year-old Patrick Pedraja who was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia at age 10. In 2007, at age 11, Patrick and his family started Driving For Donors and traveled around the country in a special “Donormobile” with the mission of signing people up for the National Marrow Registry to help find bone marrow matches for people in need of a transplant. Since then they have added over 22,000 donors to the registry and saved more than 24 people’s lives with matches. Sub City has raised millions of dollars and awareness for various charitable organizations that aim to make the world a better place and 5% of the suggested retail price for each Take Action Volume 9 set sold will be donated to further this cause.

Seattle's Take Action date is February 24th at El Corazon. Bands playing are We the Kings, Mayday Parade, A Rocket to the Moon, and There For Tomorrow. I will see you there.
