There have been too many times where I have wished for a place to sell my art without having to worry about commissions, membership fees, and ridiculous rules about what you can and cannot sell. If you are an artist looking for a free outlet to sell your creations, you should check out
storenvy.com! I know I will be.
Press release:
Storenvy.com, a free online store system and social shopping community, has its finger on the pulse of what independent merchants and their shoppers want. Storenvy provides a FREE online store system in a super-social, Facebook-like setting, connecting shoppers to sellers in a mutually beneficial setting.
"We wanted to create a true social shopping community, because I don't think that's been done effectively yet," says Jon Crawford, co-founder and developer. "Users can hang around the site, interacting with stores, products and each other. We think online shopping should feel more like shopping in a real store, and Storenvy is a big step in that direction."
"Storenvy is combining the ideas behind sites such as Big Cartel, Etsy, Amazon, Wordpress and adding the social aspect of Facebook into one lethal marketplace," says Adam Hendle, host and founder of the weekly I Am The Trend video podcast out of Chicago, http://iamthetrend.com/. "Simply put, this site is going to revolutionize the way that indie companies sell items online and how consumers buy from them."
Robb Evancoe runs the Storenvy store Shake and Shout Apparel, http://shakeandshout.storenvy.com/, where he sells trendy sunglasses and other apparel. He was an early adopter of the Storenvy system. "The social networking aspect of Storenvy is so seamless and easy to use, I really enjoy it. It has connected us with new customers and increased our sales dramatically."
For independent merchants, Storenvy offers online stores for FREE with a beautiful and extremely easy-to-use Store Admin Panel, including easy order management, unlimited product listings and store stats. Store designs are fully customizable, or a simple design template is available with no programming knowledge required. Merchants can sell virtually anything they want, from band merch to toaster ovens.
For shoppers, Storenvy's crowd-curated features help people find new and relevant products with ease. Users can follow the actions of stores and other users, or they can share their favorite products with everyone else on the site by clicking the "I Like This" button. The more people who like an item, the more it will be featured throughout the site, and these finds can be posted to the user's Facebook accounts. Users can easily find new stores that are similar to ones they already like through Markets, which are groups of stores that share something in common.
In addition to social shopping and online stores, Storenvy also offers a high-quality screen printing service. Storenvy’s online stores can be offered for free on account of the profits brought in by Storenvy Printing, which is award-winning and a favorite of many top apparel companies. Storenvy store owners are encouraged to use the company's printing services when needed, but are not required to do so.
Storenvy's system allows users to buy from multiple stores with one shopping cart and one payment transaction.
Storenvy launched Nov. 3, and since then has gained 2,000 new users and 150 new stores. The team continues to launch new features weekly.
Storenvy was created by three young entrepreneurs with no outside investment. Crawford develops the site, Scott Anderson designs it and Nick Roccanti manages Storenvy Printing.
