Seattle International Film Festival: Looking For Local Artists!

This year the Seattle International Film Festival launched a new digital channel called SIFFtv. They will be exclusively showcasing local musicians in each episode! Musicians can apply by e-mailing: SIFFtv@siff.net

The first artist featured on their official video is my band Man Without Wax. It's such an honor that they chose our song "Shutout". Their staff are some of the nicest and professional people I've ever worked with. Much love to the 38th Seattle International Film Festival. I'm excited to catch a film or event.

Come see MWW play RCA's show…

Music Video Spotlight: Moneta - Get Yourself Right

Last week local rock powerhouse Moneta released their music video for "Get Yourself Right", their second single off This Is All Happening Now. Rain City Ambience spoke with drummer Leo Martin to discuss the filming of the song.

RCA: Who filmed your music video? It came out amazing!
Leo Martin: Thanks, man! Kasey Chakos of Orynge Productions filmed it.

How did you come up with the concept?
I wanted to take something basic, but not too specific, from the lyrics and tell a story that a lot of people could relate to.…

Music Video Spotlight: Ticktockman - Archaic Republic

If you've been following this website, you'll recognize the band name Ticktockman. TTM performed at the RCA event we held at Studio Seven last year, and they definitely were a band everyone was talking about the next day. Since their formation 3 years ago the 5-piece have put out an EP called "Periscopes", and recently finished their full-length album with producer Derek Moree. For those tired of bland rock bands plaguing the mainstream, you'll enjoy this group's intricate songwriting. With their brand of technical rock songs, I have no…

Music Monday: Local Edition

Greetings interwebs. Welcome to the Music Monday blog for this week! Last week was focused on pop punk, and the week prior was on hip hop. This week I'm shifting focus to some local acts that have been invading my iPhone's library.

#nowplaying

Hey - Bateson here. Here is a short blog on albums I've been jamming to lately.

blink-182 - Neighborhoods
Yeah, I've been listening to the leak. I don't feel too guilty about it since I pre-ordered. "Neighborhoods" is a great follow-up to self-titled. I saw the band live a few weeks back in Auburn, and the production was phenomenal. Long live Mark, Tom, and Travis.

Places and Numbers - Travels
Bobby Darling (guitarist of Gatsbys American Dream)'s solo work is quite impressive. Here is a cool video onYouTube of how he made "Travels" backpacking through…

New Addition To RCA Staff

Hey everyone - My name is Chris Bateson, and I'm honored to join the Rain City Ambience team! I've been following this website since the beginning, and it's been great to see it grow to what it is today.

A little bit about me: Music is a huge passion of mine. I've played in bands since high school, and have toured across the US. I grew up in Hong Kong, and moved to Washington when I was 11. In junior high I picked up my first guitar, and constantly covered my favorite bands -- Blink 182, Green Day, Weezer, and…
