Music worth listening to: GO RADIO. Catch them at El Corazon tomorrow night!



To be completely honest, when I first heard about Go Radio, I wrote them off as another crappy pop-rock band destined to be clung onto by 14-year-old girls who are just learning that music exists beyond Justin Bieber (though, in many cases, there's not much a difference--but that's a blog for another day). Then I removed my head from a very dark orifice and gave GR's music a chance. And what the hell? I actually like it.

An evening with the Maine..



...and about 300 other REALLY sweaty people. Seriously, if you were there last Friday at El Corazon for this show, you know what I mean. I think I came out of the club 5 pounds lighter, and I drank so much water!
Despite the extreme heat wave that the club endured, it was an awesome show! I have only seen The Maine play once before, and that was at a huge event [JBB this past December] and I can say that I really do enjoy them live. They have an energy that I don't see very often…

Punk Goes Classic Rock: Just another reason to rip your ears out of your head



This blog had to happen (and everybody knows it), so if you are a sucker for the Punk Goes _____ albums then I suggest you don't read these next few paragraphs.

Fearless Records are really milking this series for all it's [not] worth [anymore]. Back in the day, the first Punk Goes Pop album introduced my ears to Thrice, and it pretty much opened the gateway to the whole genre that has captivated so many years of my life. Ahh, nostalgia. Rufio, Thrice, Yellowcard… those were the days.
