Welcome to Rain City Ambience. We are a Seattle-based music blog, but our site offers much more than just news. On our music page you will find indie and alternative news, a Seattle events calendar, some of our anticipated album releases, and more!
If you have any questions or want to contact us, don't hesitate to check out our info page.
A trifecta of shows: RCA Presents @ Chop Suey, My American Heart, and Coachella.
There are generally three conditions under which a show must fall in order to be worthy of excitement: 1) We book the show (duh.), 2) A band loved 5 years ago and has since broken up is playing a reunion show, or 3) The lineup for a kick ass festival is announced. Okay, there might be a few other categories, but I am pretty stoked about these three.
The first, of course, is the next Rain City Ambience Presents show, which is happening on February 4th at Chop Suey on Capitol Hill. Striking Back,
The Moondoggies are playing The Neptune THIS Saturday!
In honor of the show The Moondoggies are playing this Saturday, they put this funny video together. The Moondoggies, a Seattle band, are playing at The Neptune this Saturday with The Maldives for their sixth annual Christmas show extravaganza. Tickets are $15 and doors open at 8pm. If you haven't heard about either band before, take the time now to check out the music on their Facebook pages.
Saturday Night CD Release: Keeping Secrets and Pink Bead at the Showbox
Hey hi hello. It's been a while since I've posted more than 10 words, and for this I apologize. My new "career job" kind of has me by the (metaphorical) cajones. That being said, Keeping Secrets and Pink Bead are throwing their CD Release show together at Showbox at the Market this Saturday, November 26th (TOMORROW). This is a perfect excuse to ditch the extended family who decided to stay for the entire weekend. Monsters Scare You, Vices, To Paint The Sky, and Numbers are…
Music Friday: Definitely not as catchy as "Music Monday"
There are three electro shows in three days next week, and they are all going to kick so much ass that I have to post about them instead of going to sleep at a decent hour like a normal human being. If you are feeling gloomy because the weather just turned to shit (I love you, Seattle, but really? Reveal the sun!) then maybe you should check out a couple of these shows to lift your spirits. I know I will be.
First and foremost, the dynamic duo that is Chromeo will be at Showbox Sodo on Monday…
What do you get when you bring together a kick ass venue, a lot of friends, instruments, and a worthy cause? A Rock Out ALS show. I've been going to ROALS shows since last year and with each show that Michael Miller, founder of Rock Out ALS, puts on, you can visibly notice his passion and ambition growing and building for a cause that's so very personal to him.
Playing this edition of ROALS were Third Attempt, Man Without Wax, Peace Mercutio, Fall From Grace, and Alabaster. Each band of musicians stood out on…
Seattle area musicians and those involved in any way, listen up!
Are you a musician, photographer, videographer, show booker, run a venue, run a music label, or are in any way involved in the Seattle area music scene? If so, we've got just the event for you. Happening in Tacoma THIS SUNDAY (the 28th) is the first ever South Sound Music Summit at the Redroom. This will be the perfect opportunity for anyone involved in Seattle music to network with fellow photographers, music venues, managers, videographers, and just about anything else you can think of. There will even be sweets, thanks to Katie Strozyk and Shelby Rude.
DIGITALISM
Electronic music... no one does it quite like ze' Germans. Hailing from Hamburg, Jence and Isi aka Digitalism have been bringing superior dance music to the scene since 2004. They've caught the attention of major DJ's such as Justice and Erol Alkan and their tracks have caught regular rotation in their sets. With one of the most rad studios I've ever heard of, they record and produce their music in a WWII bomb shelter they own in Hamburg - talk about low noise…
They say a picture's worth a thousand words, so read the above flyer and come on down, up, or over to El Corazon tomorrow for VICES' first show ever. It's an all ages shindig with a stacked lineup; you'd be crazy not to make an appearance. Bring your best Hamilton, and we'll see you tomorrow night. Support local music!
Nevermind how late I am on posting this.. but what's with all the band bashing? Ignore how hypocritical I am for saying that, seeing how I've had my fair share of bashing on bands, but I've taken a new stand! Really, they're doin' their own thang. Who are we to judge their intentions? We don't know these musicians personally, so we shouldn't be talking like we know them. I had this in mind as I was watching such bands as fun. and Panic At The Disco take the stage in Seattle late last month.
Yes, I realize that the title of this blog rhymes (and is a tongue twister when read out loud), and yes I am also too stubborn and tired to change it to something more clever. 2AM don't care! Real bloggers don't sleep anyway.
Seattle's very own Grieves is releasing his first album on Rhymesayers Entertainment next Tuesday, June 21st before kicking off on a month of Warped Tour dates. Grieves and Budo are playing a show at Neumos on Monday, June 20th, and it's sure to kick all kinds of ass. You…
When I first started getting involved in Seattle local music, bands like Gatsbys American Dream, Danger:Radio, From Aphony, and Blane were names commonly found on the bills for a majority of shows. With that in mind, last night's show a throwback. I think it's fair to say that only at a Rain City Ambience show would you find members of each of those bands, even if the members from those bands weren't performing but merely in attendance. Before I joined the staff here, I had always thought of this website as the middle person in the scene,…
To Paint the Sky had to drop due a member change fiasco, but Tacoma natives Where Sails Meet Rails are taking their place. Doors open at 7:30 tonight, and tickets are $10 at the door. Hit us up on Facebook if you want a discounted pre-sale ticket for $8!
This is the first show we have been the main promoters of since 2007. That's FOUR YEARS too long. Let's make this one for a books and show Seattle that we have a kickass local music scene! See you tonight.
CAUTION: Zumiez Couch Tour is coming to South Hill Mall on Saturday
The Zumiez Couch Tour kicks off this Saturday (technically tomorrow) at the South Hill Mall in Puyallup, and you absolutely cannot miss this day full of action-packed fun-ness-osity. Forever the Sickest Kids are headlining the event with Anarbor as the supporting act. Couch Tour starts at noon--so if you come a few hours before the bands are set to play you can watch a pro skate team and win cool swag from Zumiez and the tour's sponsors.
And the best part is... IT'S ALL FREE! Woohoo. See you there.
SEACATS. CD release. Tomorrow? Yes. Free download now? Also yes.
That's right: There is a band called SEACATS tearing up the Washington music scene, and they are playing their album release show tomorrow night at the Vera Project. This band is living proof that an awesome band name goes a long way (hell, it makes me read your email), so PLEASE for the love of GOD stop giving your band stupid unpronounceable names. Never mind the fact that there are two acceptable ways to say "ambience"--the point is that these guys kick ass.
SEACATS have been generous enough to let us offer you a free download of…
I'm always a little skeptical of tours nowadays. Over time I have found that tours has one of two things happening: either all of the bands aren't my cup 'o tea and I end up very bored, or every band is amazingly mind-blowing and not a single person is having a bad time. Thankfully last night the band situation stayed in the realm of the latter. Although only a little over 200 tickets pre-sold, El Corazon started to fill up just before Bayside went on, only to half way empty just before Silverstein took the stage.
Whether you know it or not, odds are you've heard New York-based DJ/Producer A-Trak's work. He's ALL over the place. Whether he's spending his time on tour as Kanye West's live DJ, or in the studio bangin' out tunes with his house/EDM group Duck Sauce, A-Trak keeps it real. When it comes to raw, old school DJ appeal, it's hard to beat this guy.
He got his start at the tender age of 15... by winning DMC's DJ World Championship, becoming the youngest ever to win the award. Of course, he couldn't just stop there. Some of…
Don't quote me on this, but I'm pretty sure they make the publicists over at Biz3 take an extensive vocabulary test to make sure they are adequate enough for writing three-sentence long emails that can make people say "uh, what the fuck?" while still accurately conveying their point in memorable way (try saying THAT three times fast). In this case, the artist in question is actually something to rave about.
"WIN WIN are coming to Chop Suey on May 12th to deliver their amalgam of psychadelic disco and pop-referential visuals that they contort live." Uh, yep, I can imagine that.…
Rusko is playing TONIGHT at Showbox Sodo. The show is sold out, so if you didn't buy tickets already you are shit outta luck--that is unless you choose to become "friends" with a lovely scalper or feel like scouring the slums of Craigslist and paying out the ass for it.
Take a look inside: The rival of the garage scene; Free showing at the Metro Cinemas!
New Garage Explosion!!: In Love With The Times is a new film that follows a handful of musicians and documents the revival of the garage scene. The feature-length movie will be playing at the Metro Cinemas on April 28th--and the best part is that it's a free screening! Get there early to ensure that you don't miss out.
From the VBS website:
To find out what American garage rock looks like (and to know what it’s like to be in an independent band) right now, VBS and Scion A/V toted a bunch of cameras around the USA and found a…
Music worth listening to: GO RADIO. Catch them at El Corazon tomorrow night!
To be completely honest, when I first heard about Go Radio, I wrote them off as another crappy pop-rock band destined to be clung onto by 14-year-old girls who are just learning that music exists beyond Justin Bieber (though, in many cases, there's not much a difference--but that's a blog for another day). Then I removed my head from a very dark orifice and gave GR's music a chance. And what the hell? I actually like it.
As a bit of background, Go Radio is a Tallahasee-born quartet fronted by…
If you haven't heard of Francis and the Lights yet, now is the time to enlighten yourself. This dude is truly captivating--and if you watch the above video you will see why! He has already opened for Drake, MGMT, and La Roux, and he produced/wrote a track for Drake's latest release. Francis is playing a series of shows leading up to his performance at Coachella, and the Seattle date is right around the corner.
We are giving away a pair of tickets to see Francis and the Lights at Chop…
I don't know much about Crystal Castles except that they don't seem to care what people think about them--and apparently this is what people love about them. Quite the Catch-22. The electro duo are playing a sold out show at Showbox Sodo tomorrow night, and if you don't have tickets I highly recommend you find a way to sneak in. This show is going to be insane.
So it has recently come to my attention that local Seattle natives, Amber Pacific, have brought back the infamous Matt Young.
Amber Pacific back in 2006. (and yes, that's me too. don't laugh!)
In a post on Absolute Punk, it was announced that the band will be doing acoustic shows at local colleges. They have parted ways with Jesse Cottam, the singer who took Matt's place when he left in 2008. There is no mention of whether or not Davy Rispoli will be remaining with the band or not. We can only hope that this…
Add a little hip hop to your life: Black Milk at Nectar on February 23rd
We've been posting a ton about electronic, alternative, and indie music as of late, which means we have accidentally neglected an integral part of the scene: Hip hop! Expect a Macklemore & Ryan Lewis infatuation blog soon, but for now I present to you an intriguing fellow from the midwest.
Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, Black Milk will be back in Seattle at the end of the month for the first time since 2008. His latest album, titled Album of the Year, has received critical acclaim even from the toughest of music critics. Listen to the song Welcome…
This year's Sasquatch lineup was announced on Sunday, and I'm just as excited as every other time a festival lineup is announced--only this time I have the option of attending. Hooray!
As much as I love the headliners, the bands I am most excited for are City & Colour, Robyn, Ratatat, Skrillex, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Yeasayer, and Local Natives. After reading the lineup a few more times I will probably find someone I overlooked, but this is my list so far.
Four days of camping, partying, not showering, and watching my favorite indie/hip hop/electronic artists all at…
Since I have nothing of substance to say about this show yet, I thought I'd leave you with a 1500x1000 image of Spencer Chamberlain (Underoath) doing what he does best. This week is full of midterms and misery for me, but look for our interview with Grant Brandell and more photos of the band in the next couple of weeks.
Catch The Volcano Diary this Thursday night at Neumo's!
Local electro-acoustic group The Volcano Diary are [finally] playing their [rescheduled from November] CD release at 10pm this Thursday, February 3rd, at Neumo's. The self-titled CD was produced by Steve Fisk (Nirvana, The Posies, Low) and will be available for purchase at the show!
Easy Street is drawing winners for tickets at some point today. If you enter now you still might be able to win!
Friday Night Electro. Fourno's. Tonight. Be there.
Fourno's is arguably one of the worst bars in the U District, but when our fantastic electronic writer, Haus, and his partner in crime take the stage, heads roll. And I mean that in the best way possible.
Come to the Ave for drinks, dancing (not me), and possibly the appearance of my big-ass camera. Then I'll tag each photo with "FRIDAY NIGHT ELECTRO" in type that so large that it distracts from the photo and post them on the RCA Facebook page. Just kidding. Come on, what do you think this is going to…
Catch the What Matters Most CD release party TONIGHT at Studio Seven
Bellevue natives What Matters Most have been supporting RCA since we first started back in 2005, so hyping the release of their new EP, The Emergent Property, is the least we can do.
What Matters Most, Heir to the Throne, To the Wind, and Data Junkies are playing tonight at Studio Seven. The show starts at 8 and the cost is $8. Really, can you think of a better way to spend your Saturday night? Because I sure can't.
Listen to four (of six) songs off The Emergent Property on Myspace.

King Cat Theatre – Seattle, WA BUY TICKETS HERE!
The guy’s got it… all of it. With naturally adept musical talent crossing multiple genres, the unadulterated will to put in the painfully time-intensive work necessary for success, a unique and enticing counter-culture image capable of pulling in masses of new fans, and a dance-floor / meat-butchering sound all of his own Sonny Moore is primed for climbing the ladder to the top and skipping more than a few rungs on the way up to Valhalla.
Well, there goes an hour of my life. Thanks, Guster. (Really. Thank you.)
Guster, who have been a band for almost as long as I have been alive, recently released a series of videos for the 12 tracks on their newest album, Easy Wonderful. Each video was directed by someone different--friends, fans, and artists they love--and they range from animation to stop motion to just plain awesome. I'm still trying to choose a favorite, but the video for Do What You Want has definitely won me over (at least so far). Watch for yourself on the Easy Wonderful website!
The Boston natives will be appearing at the Moore Theater…
Tonight's show at Neumo's has been canceled and is currently being rescheduled. We'll keep you posted! In the meantime, somebody should help me build an igloo.
Local electro-acoustic act The Volcano Diary is playing their album release show tonight at Neumo's. Their set starts at 9:00, so be sure to get there on time.
Other acts include Carrie Akre, Curtains For You, and Another Perfect Crime. Doors open at 8PM, the cost is $8, and you have to be be 21 to get in!
Listen to The Volcano Diary on Myspace, and check out their…
Lamppost Revival, Wild Orchid Children, Pierce The Veil, oh my!
Seattle has quite the list of shows going on tonight. In Interbay, at the Q Cafe, Lamppost Revival is having their CD release. Most of you probably don't know who they are, but if you like folk music, you'll love them. And my cousin is the singer, so I'm biased. They just released their first music video from the studio, it's pretty great.
Pierce The Veil is also playing at El Corazon and Wild Orchid Children have a show at the Columbia City Theater. You have no excuse to sit at home tonight!
Jingle Bell Bash lineup announced; Camping outside WaMu Theater this weekend becomes justifiable
Unless you live under a musical rock--and as far as I know those don't exist--you have undoubtedly heard of this year's Jingle Bell Bash lineup. In case you don't kn--I mean "forgot," you can expect to see some huge names at this year's event. Paramore, 3OH!3, All Time Low, The Maine, The Ready Set, Mayday Parade, A Rocket to the Moon, Cartel, Runner Runner, and a special unannounced guest (Bieber, anyone?) will be playing the December 4th event, and tickets go on sale this Saturday, October 30th at 10AM.
Entry is about 50 bucks for regular folk (probably…
Iwrestledabearonce, The Chariot, Chelsea Smile, and more tonight at El Corazon!
Come down to El Corazon tonight to get loose in the pit to a couple amazing bands. Local seattle band Monsters Scare You! will be opening for this tour as well so it'd be nice to come out and show the local music scene a little love. If you have never experienced The Chariot live before, then this is one for sure not to miss. Even if you don't like their music, they put on one heck of a show!
I'll be there all night mixin it up so say hello and heck maybe I'll even help you…
A friendly reminder: DEADMAU5 and Skrillex at the Paramount on October 13th. Are you ready for this?
**Thank you to Craig Hanson for submitting this preview! Look for a review from him after the show as well.**
I recently informed a friend about the upcoming Deadmau5 show and how epic it was set to be: THE best visual show in electronic music, one of the most laudable music producers of our time flexing his craftsmanship and energy for those lucky enough to attend, and the venue which holds possibly Seattle’s richest performing arts history will be his stage.
Needless to say, my friend’s response was to be expected: “Who the hell is Dead-mouse?”
Ludo, There For Tomorrow, Sunderlyn, and more at El Corazon TONIGHT!
It's been a while since we have covered a show, but we can't miss seeing There For Tomorrow on their last supporting tour for A Little Faster. Jessie and I will be there, taking photos and hanging out, so if you see one of us don't hesitate to say hi!
Catch the boys in A Rocket to the Moon on the Shout It Out tour with Tulsa, OK natives, Hanson. They'll be stopping by The Moore on September 23 so enjoy a great show! I'll be sidestage for the Portland date so if you see me say "Suppp!"
I don't think I mentioned this in my blog last Sunday, but uh.. I LOVE DEADMAU5. He killed it on the VMAs, and I probably would have been happy just to sit and watch him DJ for the entire two hours of the show--but that's beside the point.
Deadmau5 will be playing at the Paramount on October 13th, and for $36.50 you can be one of the cool kids andbuy a ticket! This show is going to be amazing.
Tomorrow! Casual Industrees make an appearance at Urbanity
University of Washington students, alumni, and fans listen up! Tomorrow at 5 PM, Seattle's beloved clothing company, Casual Industrees, will be at Urbanity in the U District to release an exclusive UW collaboration t-shirt. Think: Old school Mariner's logo meets purple and gold.
There will be free food and beer (for those over 21), and the supply of t-shirts is limited. Get yours before they sell out!
Make sure you head out to El Corazon tomorrow night to see our friends in Oceans (ex-Vision & Valor and Hello, High Water!Devils Hunt Me Down, Magoh, and Florence Acres will also be playing.
Watch for Jessie's interview with Oceans coming any day now... aaaany day now... *ahem*
...to take a BITE out of Seattle. I will be attending (and hopefully taking lots of pictures at) the Bite of Seattle today, and I hope to see all of you there! Go eat, watch people play crazy instruments, and maybe even take a gander at the dancing scarf guy.
The festivities come to a close at 8PM tonight.
Click here to check out the Bite's website and see what else is going on.
There For Tomorrow have just released their video for Deathbed, and it is streaming on mtv.com now!
Also, the guys will be playing tomorrow night at El Corazon with Sing it Loud, Every Avenue, and The Secret Handshake. We will be there (possibly doing a followup interview with TFT) so you should proooobably come down and hang out. It'll be a good time.
Now that Folklife and Sasquatch are over, it's time to focus on the next big Seattle event: BUMBERSHOOT! This year's lineup and ticket prices were just announced, and it's definitely a lot more affordable this year if you are not interested in seeing any of the mainstage artists. Tickets start at $22 a day ($40 for tickets with mainstage access), with a couple of VIP packages starting at $250.
The big names of this year are: Bob Dylan / Mary J. Blige / Weezer / Hole / Rise Against / Neko Case / The Decemberists / J.…
To be quite honest, this year's Folklife was kind of a bummer. The weather just did NOT want to let up for a few days so everyone could enjoy the entertainment and food that Folklife has to offer. Regardless, my boyfriend, Simon, and I went out on Saturday and Sunday to shop, eat, and watch people show off their talents.
Even though it was raining, I still wanted to take some photos to remember the weekend by. These are on my Flickr as well.
Kick off your summer with an AWESOME show for an AWESOME-R cause!
I just received an email from the lovely people at Club Impact (though the sender did not identify his or herself o.O), but they are holding an acoustic benefit show and barbecue at the Destiny Worldwide office in Kirkland on June 4th. That's this Friday!
From Impact:
"You may or may not know that we lost our funding last year and therefore we lost our old venue in Tacoma, WA. It was a major bummer to everyone, but we are looking at new potential spaces and gearing up to get Club Impact back on track and continue our…
Two of the best festivals in Washington happen on the same weekend every year, and it tears me to pieces that I can't attend both. Or can I?
I had a press pass for the entire weekend at Sasquatch, but tickets were sold out (and $300 on Craigslist) by the time they told me I had received them. After a few kinks in the road (school stuff of course), I am still tentatively planning on attending tomorrow. Maybe today and Monday will be dedicated to Folklife. Afterall, that event IS free...
I haven't been to a show in forever (There For Tomorrow, maybe?), and if I didn't have a fever of a million degrees I would probably be in attendance tonight at the Showbox. To those of you who are going--I HATE YOU. Just kidding.
Okay, now it's time for me to zone out on the couch while watching 2006's cycle of America's Next Top Model. Have fun the show!
That's right, ladies and gentlemen... this coming Saturday is officially Record Store Day. Never mind the fact that the founder of this day totes the same name as a certain Rihanna-beater (*cough* Chris Brown *cough*); just get out there and buy some music for once in your life!
There are many participating stores in Seattle, and some shops are even hosting live performances in celebration of the event. For example, Minus the Bear will be playing at Sonic Boom in Seattle, and I just found this out and now my heart is shattered into a million…
Moneta, Shyforshy, Sunderlyn, and West on 18 at GRCC on April 16th!
On April 16th, Green River Community College will be hosting an all-ages show in their Lindbloom Student Center. Moneta, Shyforshy, Sunderlyn, and West on 18 will be playing the event. Doors open at 6:30, and the show is only FIVE DOLLARS!! How's that for a recession show? If you find yourself down in the southend on the 16th, you better stop in for this magical event.
Ahh.. Shows at Green River Community College... Really brings me back to the KGRG Summer Riot-- when Boys Dont Bleed were still a band. MAN, that makes me feel old.
Kelly news + music news + another unexpected mini-rant = wtf blog post.
Hey everyone. Sorry it's been quiet around here for the past fews days; next week is finals week, and I have been preparing myself for the two finals I have to take on Saturday. I realize that one blog about the inefficiency of Internet Explorer is probably not going to hold you guys over until next Wednesday, so I thought I would just post something of no real substance but is awesome anyway (e.g. a picture of 400 raccoons with laser beam eyes that I found on Strike Gently).
As a friendly reminder, New Found Glory are playing…
Our featured artist, Hexxus, is playing at El Corazon tonight with the Sky Electric, A Hope For Home, To the Wind, and Alive Through Love. The show starts at 5:00, and will cost $12 at the door. See you all there!
Come see Chris Pastras and Jason Lee at the Bellevue Square Zumiez!
Chris Pastras and Jason Lee are the founders of the Stereo Sound Agency, and they will be at the Bellevue Square Zumiez hanging out and signing autographs on March 14th! Jason Lee is in My Name is Earl and Mall Rats (lolz @ him doing a mall signing).
Stereo Sound Agency was founded in 1992 by Lee and Pastras, and they pride themselves on being an innovative skate company that puts the creativity back into skateboarding. Check out their website for more information.
I am so excited for Sasquatch this year! Minus the Bear, MGMT, Portugal. The Man, CITY AND COLOUR, Massive Attack, Vampire Weekend, and Passion Pit are just a few artists playing, and... did I mention that I am excited? Minus the Bear and City and Colour playing the SAME FESTIVAL and it's not a 4000 mile drive away. AHHH!!!
Moving on...
The festival is on May 29th, 30th, and 31st, and here is a complete list of the artists who are playing:
Saturday, May 29th
My Morning Jacket / Vampire Weekend / The National / Deadmau5 / Broken Social…
The dudes of Still Life Still have released a video for one of their (only) nonsexual songs, and it's on AOL video now.
Be sure to read our review of Still Life Still's album Girls Come Too (see what I mean about sexual?).
Also, the band will be playing a show at Chop Suey THIS SUNDAY (Valentine's Day) with Wild Beasts, who I have not heard, but their name is pretty sweet so I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one.
Casual Industrees are a clothing company based out of Seattle (a garage on Alki would be a little more specific), and all of their designs are related to the northwest. Check out their website to see what Casual Industrees is about.
In honor of the Seattle Supersonics being relocated to other, less exciting cities, Casual has just released this t-shirt:
I think the design is pretty self-explanatory. Order now before it sells out!
Check out the contest that Destiny Worldwide are running from today until Friday! One winner will be chosen each day, and will receive a DW prize pack filled with t-shirts and CDs.
I sense a lot of ugly Christmas sweater photos surfacing in the next few days...
Destiny Worldwide are looking for people who are…

Oh, I'm sorry, I misquoted; Less Avenged needs code monkeys to add to their development team. It's an "on-site, full time salaried position. 40 hrs/wk with great benefits" located in Pioneer Square.. Who wouldn't want to work there?
Internship positions are also available, so even if you don't know JavaScript, PHP, or MySql (or how to make the perfect Jack and Coke, apparently), you might still have a shot.
If you are unfamiliar with Less Avenged check out their website-- or our website, for that matter, because they designed the page…
Day one was (apparently) a huge success. As usual, I have to work, so Bumbershoot will not be seeing me this year.
Check out the schedule online here, and feel free to submit any pictures or stories from Bumbershoot 2009! If we get enough submissions I will make a compilation of everything and post it on the site for everyone to read.
Send everything to kelly@raincityambience.com. I hope to hear from a lot of you!! And credit will be given where credit is due.
So... my apologies for having not posted in a bit. We've been fairly busy working away in the studio and just finished the final touches in time to released this B-side from the last album for free download on our myspace! its called Motor Truck City and you need to go listen to it RIGHT NOW!
On another note, we are playing the Vans Warped Tour in Portland tomorrow with our Seattle buddies Girl On Fire and Aiden at the Ernie Ball Stage. If you are driving down, or live in Portland area, come party with us!…
The ever so popular Seattle Tattoo Expo is this weekend. August 7-9th at the Seattle Center. I've never been but I'd imagine it to be fun. Who doesn't want to go get tattooed by some of the best artists in the country?
Who wants to get matching tattoos? Omgz. Or how about RCA tattoos. Let's all go get RCA tattoos!
Or not. But anyway, tattoo expo, this weekend, fun stuff. If you've been thinking about going to get a tattoo, this is your chance. There's going to be a ton of bands playing, so that alone is worth checking out.
There's nothing that excites me more than eating (I have a sweet blog coming up that is also related to food), so there should be no reason for me to not go to the Bite of Seattle this weekend, right?!
WRONG.
Turns out I have/had to work all weekend, and the only way I am going to get to go chow down on some delicious/expensive treats is if I get up at 8, take the light rail to Seattle (it opened today), eat, leave, then drive to work by noon. Considering it is already 1 o'clock in the morning and…
There's really no place I would have rather been than at Sasquatch this weekend, but seeing as I couldn't convince myself to cough up the money until a week before the event (and I didn't want to request a press pass until the new site was up- at which point it was too late to even ask... though I did anyway and got denied), I was not able to attend. Fortunately for me, Memorial Day weekend is never dull in Seattle, and to replace the void that was created by the lack of Sasquatch-age, I went to Folklife (and Pike…
