Welcome to Rain City Ambience. We are a Seattle-based music blog, but our site offers much more than just news. On our music page you will find indie and alternative news, a Seattle events calendar, some of our anticipated album releases, and more!
If you have any questions or want to contact us, don't hesitate to check out our info page.
A couple of months ago I emailed Die Antwoord's publicist regarding their upcoming Seattle show. I hadn't heard from anybody so I followed up last night, and this morning I received an email stating simply "They're not on label anymore." Interscope and Die Antwoord parted ways over controversial contact, so they are releasing Ten$ion independently on February 7th.
The South African trio will return to the Showbox at the Market on February 20th. You cannot miss this show. They might verbally abuse every single person in the room, but they'll do it with such…
And the award for best cameo appearance in a music video goes to...
Matthew McConaughey makes an unlikely guest cameo in Butch Walker And The Black Widows' newest music video for Synthesizers, reviving his infamous character, Wooderson, from Dazed & Confused. Kickass song; kickass video. Check out the clip above.
Butch Walker And The Black Widows are playing a benefit show for The Pablove Foundation--a non-profit childhood cancer organization--on Saturday, January 28th in Milwaukee, WI. If you're in the area, you can purchase tickets here!
This year's Bamboozle lineup has finally been announced, and I am beyond excited. I mean honestly, who wouldn't fly across the country to watch DJ Pauly D and his hair perform live, in the flesh, in his own stomping grounds of Asbury Park, New Jersey? Who knows? Maybe the entire cast of Jersey Shore will be there fist pumpin' right alongside him. (Dear god no.)
In all seriousness, 2012 is Bamboozle's 10th year in the making. Last year Lil Wayne, 30 Seconds To Mars, and A Day To Remember headlined, and this year we see…
A trifecta of shows: RCA Presents @ Chop Suey, My American Heart, and Coachella.
There are generally three conditions under which a show must fall in order to be worthy of excitement: 1) We book the show (duh.), 2) A band loved 5 years ago and has since broken up is playing a reunion show, or 3) The lineup for a kick ass festival is announced. Okay, there might be a few other categories, but I am pretty stoked about these three.
The first, of course, is the next Rain City Ambience Presents show, which is happening on February 4th at Chop Suey on Capitol Hill. Striking Back,
The Scene Aesthetic are coming out with a new EP this fall. Here is their music video for "Everybody". Check out RCA's interview with Andrew de Torres here. TSA are playing a FREE show with He Is We on October 13th at Neumos. Click here for ticket info.
So most of you have heard of local boys, Girl on Fire at some point if you've gone to any shows here in Seattle in the last few years. On Tuesday August 30th last week, Hollywood Waste (Century Media) announced signing the band to a recording contract, as well as debuting a teaser of the new EP (which I of course had the pleasure of working on with my bros Wil Francis of Aiden, and Justin Armstrong who I also got to work on the last and upcoming Aiden record with).
Tyler Carter of band Woe, Is Me announced via twitter yesterday that he would be leaving the band to pursue his solo career. Apparently his heart just wasn't in the music anymore and he couldn't force himself to put on a happy face and continue to play and put out music that he no longer had any interest in. Below is a statement Tyler made concerning his departure from the band:
It's not an easy step to make, but I can't go on living a dream that I no longer have full interest in. I love the fans, and I…
Business Boys Never Rest released a sick music video for their song "FAME" today. This hip hop trio will be releasing their "Villains" EP for FREE download next Tuesday (8/9/11). I likey free music.
You may recognize the voice on the single's hook. It's sung by none other then Lizzie Huffman! I look forward to downloading their EP next week.
Check this group out now, so you can say ya knew 'em before they blew up!
Exclusive clubs and memberships are pretty awesome. We all have those clubs we belong to. Personally, I belong to "Red Sox Nation," "Rain City Ambience," and "The Nyack Regional Library." I think the exclusive clubs I belong in are pretty great. However, nothing beats being an exclusive member of "Club 27." To be a member of this club, you must do a few things:
1. Die at the age of 27.
2. Be an excellent prime musician paving the way for musical generations
Sounds simple enough... Actually, the idea conjured up of such an exclusive club is rather haunting and…
Seriously, there are a bunch load of albums jumping into game play on Tuesday. I'm sure thankful to our newest staffer Chris Bateson for the hookups with spotify. (I'll probably write something next week on my personal review of spotify... for now, all I can tell you is it's a database where you can stream whole albums... for free)
You know that shit feeling you get when you realize people younger than you might actually be more successful than you? If you're really not into that, it's probably best you stop reading right now. Just a warning, because it looks like the future of electronic music might be the a 17-year-old Frenchman who calls himself, simply, Madeon(@itsmadeon). He's currently enjoying his sensation status on YouTube thanks to his latest remix--which has netted over 620k views in 4 days. In case you aren't a part of that group yet, you might want to take a seat...…
Long time old friends. I have been a little MIA on here (I can see Kelly rollin' her eyes at me haha) but I wanted to include you all in what I've been up to for the past few months, maybe even year.
Blessed just finished recording the long awaited album, of which I was a majority songwriter, and Im really stoked for you all to hear it.
Among other things I have been recording music here in the Seattle area for bands like Monsters Scare You!, Anchor The Tide, To Paint The Sky, Alabaster, Keeping…
Happy release day! A bunch of new albums came out today, including Vanna's And They Came Baring Bones and August Burns Red's Leveler, but Travels, the newest release from Places and Numbers, is the album I've been looking forward to the most. I just really like music that is different.
Bobby will be heading out on the road as Places and Numbers for the first two weeks on Warped Tour, with members of The Dangerous Summer as his backing band. Of course it is guaranteed to be a good time and you should make a point…
It's been a minute or two (or a few months) since our last update on Anarcortes natives The Lonely Forest, and for this I deeply apologize. I feel like I've been keeping a terrible secret from a significant other, so now you get the full confessional. I hope you are prepared for a blog full of musical awesomeness.
For those unfamiliar with TLF, they were recently among the first to be signed to Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie's Trans Records. Coincidentally, the band is currently finishing up a tour with DCFC…
.. And why is Tuesday is my favorite day of the week? NEW. RELEASES. Yes, I am a day late but it's better late than never. I've been really behind on all of the new releases and now I'm determined to keep up. With that said, here are the notable releases for the week and a few short thoughts about it.
All Time Low - Dirty Work
Everything with this band is hit or miss for me. I loved Put Up Or Shut Up and So Wrong, It's Right was okay, but Nothing Personal left a bad taste in…
Its been about 4 months since the electro house enigma that is Mord Fustang first appeared on ze interwebz. Like a blind girl at a deaf orgy, the electro scene had no idea who was coming. He would spend the next few months filling our brain boxes with a sound Mr. Fustang himself describes as "Arpeggios, wobbles, 1-up mushrooms and disco basslines." Good on ya mate. His tracks would enjoy their time in the spotlight, spending several weeks with multiple songs appearing in Beatport's Top 10. In truth I've kind of been putting off writing this because...…
Well, my friends, it's past midnight here on the wonderful west coast, which means it is officially April 20th. You know what that means? That's right: Our friends in The GNU Deal have finally dropped their EP, appropriately titled Swaggeroni and Steez.
Come on, what else would I be talking about?
Eric Graham and Ashton Hemmons of the Gnu Deal are generous enough to offer their album download via a "pay what you want" system--which means... well, you know what it means: Give them all your money! If you listen to track numero dos…
If you haven't heard this, you're probably not ready yet.
Sometimes I deliberately wait a couple of months before posting controversial content just so you have a chance to be exposed to it via Facebook/Twitter/YouTube/whatever else you crazy kids get yourselves into these days (who am I kidding? I'm more immersed in social media than most normal people). Tyler the Creator and the rest of the Odd Future crew are no exception. In fact, I've been sitting on this Earl Sweatshirt video for months in an attempt to save your souls from the insanity that is 16-year-old kids drinking…
Leeds-based Rusko A.k.A. Christopher Mercer is EVERYWHERE right now. Working with artists like M.I.A., Gucci Mane, and Britney Spears, he's deeply and intricately wound his way into the pop music scene with a tasteful digression most artists could learn from. At the same time he maintains a brilliant link to his roots, affording us the privilege of hearing his work with producers like Caspa, Crookers, Reso, and artists like Amanda Blank. I know what you're thinking, "but Mikey, I don't know any of those artists. I'm just getting into dubstep. I like it when it goes wub…
I have a confession to make: While Die Antwoord's music practically makes me want to rip my ears off my head, I can't help but be fascinated by their existence. These two cheeky South Africans (no pun intended.. maybe) are the definition of "over the top," and they clearly don't give a damn of what you think about them. Oh yeah, and now they have a video for their song Rich Bitch. Watch in awe as Yo-Landi runs out of toilet paper, dances around in a gold catsuit, and flaunts…
Well, ladies and gentlemen, after months of scamming his loyal fans and Twitter followers, Jonny Craig has finally checked himself into rehab. Rise Records and Artery Management will be reimbursing everyone caught in the wake of Craig's shenanigans, and all will be well in the music world again. I guess.
Drug addiction is one thing that I would rather not poke fun at on this website. I am by no means defending Jonny Craig's actions, but addiction takes people over in a way that most people (including myself) cannot--and hopefully will not ever--understand. Craig should go to jail…
It's been a while since we have heard anything from our friends in the Hexxus camp, but never fear! The band has actually spent the past month slaving away at tracking a new 15-song record for your beautiful ears to absorb. They're completely producing, mixing, and mastering the album themselves, and rest assured we will be the first ones to tell you the official release date of this destined-to-be-glorious album.
Hexxushas experienced a couple of members changes since the original record--Chris Curry is out and Justin Lambert (Wish I Was A Prodigy) is in--but we have…
Local electro-pop duo Go Periscope are doing big things! They recently released a new track, entitled Boys Like, Girls Like, on their Facebook page, and I must say--this is guilty pleasure music at its finest. Download their remix albums for free on BandCamp.
Now for the big news: Jimmy Fallon announced on his show tonight that Go Periscope are among 16 bands in the running to be featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. To help GP advance to the next rounds, all you have to…
It seems like the master artist of reinvention is having trouble reinventing herself. Yesterday, February 10, 2011, Lady Gaga released her single "Born This Way" to all the major radio stations in the United States. A few hours later, the song was released digitally for all of the world to hear. Fans have been anticipating the release since Gaga's twitter exploded with lyrics from the upcoming single at the stroke of midnight on January 1, 2011. For days now, Gaga supporters have been reacting on their twitter pages about their excitement as they await the release of the masterpiece the…
This year's Sasquatch lineup was announced on Sunday, and I'm just as excited as every other time a festival lineup is announced--only this time I have the option of attending. Hooray!
As much as I love the headliners, the bands I am most excited for are City & Colour, Robyn, Ratatat, Skrillex, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Yeasayer, and Local Natives. After reading the lineup a few more times I will probably find someone I overlooked, but this is my list so far.
Four days of camping, partying, not showering, and watching my favorite indie/hip hop/electronic artists all at…
Moneta, who are probably best known for their cover of 1000 Miles, announced on Facebook last night that they are breaking up. Reasons for the split have not yet been stated, but the the band will be missed regardless.
Details of an "epic final show" will come soon--and we'll let you know as soon as we find out.
That's right, everyone--everybody's favorite leak/porn site has finally been seized by the Department of Homeland Security. Now where am I going to watch episodes of my favorite TV shows (read: not porn) before they air? Oh yeah, that's right... this is the Internet! I can find anything I want in a matter of seconds simply by typing the name followed by "Mediafire" on Google. That being said, I wonder if the fact that all leaks posted on SG were distributed via file-sharing sites likeMediafire and MegaUpload is going to save this dude/chick's ass at all.
At least 50% of electro-duo Touch Bass is from Seattle, so this news is completely relevant. The pair have released two cover songs in the past two days--one being a semi-ridiculous rendition of the bed intruder song (hide yo' kids hide yo' wife) and the other a slightly more serious Dynamite. You can listen and/or download both songs on their Facebook BandPage (which, by the way, might be the first legitimate music app I've seen on the book of faces).

King Cat Theatre – Seattle, WA BUY TICKETS HERE!
The guy’s got it… all of it. With naturally adept musical talent crossing multiple genres, the unadulterated will to put in the painfully time-intensive work necessary for success, a unique and enticing counter-culture image capable of pulling in masses of new fans, and a dance-floor / meat-butchering sound all of his own Sonny Moore is primed for climbing the ladder to the top and skipping more than a few rungs on the way up to Valhalla.
The number of cameos in A Day to Remember's new video for All I Want is enough to make my head spin--and for me to post this as a blog rather than a tidbit of news. Watch it on MTV.com (AKA the only aspect of MTV that actually remembers what their name stands for) and see what I mean.
Full list of appearances (list "borrowed" from KROQ):
Crime In Stereo
Tom Denney (A Day To Remember’s former guitarist)
Veara
Bring Me The Horizon
Silverstein
Parkway Drive
The Devil Wears Prada

Merry Christmas! With Love from all of us at Rain City Ambience!
Just want to quickly say MERRY CHRISTMAS to each and every one of you reading this. We do what we do for you, the music fan. Whether or not you celebrate the holiday, we wish you a happy and safe holiday.
This year, we would like to let you in on a little secret to the holiday magic. I personally believe that music should be downloaded as legally as possible, thus paying for good music is something I treasure. Instead of using itunes, which can be useful but bothersome when wanting to buy one song that costs more than a…
My Thoughts on Zac and Josh's "Sudden" Leave from Paramore.
It seems that Paramore fans are just waiting for the other shoe to drop. On Saturday, December 18, 2010, everyone's favorite female fronted band since No Doubt announced that two of their founding members, Josh and Zac Farro, have permanently left the band.
The three remaining members, Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Jeremy Davis, wrote a joint statement on Paramore.net saying of Josh and Zac: "A couple of months ago, Josh and Zac let us know they would be leaving the band after our show in Orlando last Sunday. None of us were really shocked. For…
Anacortes-natives The Lonely Forest will release their rebut LP Arrows on March 22nd via Trans Records.
From this morning's press release:
Trans Records is the new label headed by Chris Walla, guitarist and producer for Grammy-nominated rock band Death Cab for Cutie, who found The Lonely Forest’s music so compelling he made the band his label’s very first signing. Walla produced and engineered Arrows at Sound City studio in Los Angeles, Tiny Telephone in San Francisco and his own, Portland-based studio, Alberta Court. He also mixed three tracks—“Be Everything,” “Turn Off This Song And Go…
Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows (D.R.U.G.S.) have released their video for the song If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is on Youtube. You can also download the short film for free on their website.
This definitely takes the cake as far as weird music videos go. I don't even know what to think right now.
If you haven't heard of Drugs, they are classified on their wikipedia page as a "post-hardcore supergroup" comprised of vocalist Craig Owens (ex-Chiodos), drummer Aaron Stern (Matchbook Romance), guitarist/vocalist Nick Martin (Underminded),…
Hayley Williams is 'Playing God' in Paramore's newest video
As many of you already know, Paramore released their video for Playing God this morning on their website. Go watch it now if you haven't already!
I really like the concept of this video--even if the poison-in-the-tea thing was recently done by Lady Gaga in Telephone--and I'm convinced that Hayley Williams can pull off any color of hair (even pink) without looking absolutely ridiculous.
What do you think of Paramore's latest creation? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
Jingle Bell Bash lineup announced; Camping outside WaMu Theater this weekend becomes justifiable
Unless you live under a musical rock--and as far as I know those don't exist--you have undoubtedly heard of this year's Jingle Bell Bash lineup. In case you don't kn--I mean "forgot," you can expect to see some huge names at this year's event. Paramore, 3OH!3, All Time Low, The Maine, The Ready Set, Mayday Parade, A Rocket to the Moon, Cartel, Runner Runner, and a special unannounced guest (Bieber, anyone?) will be playing the December 4th event, and tickets go on sale this Saturday, October 30th at 10AM.
Entry is about 50 bucks for regular folk (probably…
Okay everyone, try not to freak out like I have been doing for the past five minutes when I actually stopped sneezing and read Acceptance's latest Tweet, but it's TOTALLY UNDERSTANDABLE IF YOU DO. EEE!
Posted around 8PM PST tonight (Sunday):
So, an update for y'all: I briefly chatted with jay and said he wants to talk about a show in December with @gatsbysamerican in seattle. I'm definitely gonna point him in the direction of all the incredible amount of support you cats have been showing. Again, still no promises aside from me keeping to my…
As devastated as I was both when Copeland broke up last year and Lydia disbanded this past March, I couldn't be happier with the sound of their newest project, States. Comprised of members of Copeland and Mindy White of Lydia, the band released their first EP, entitled Line 'Em Up, yesterday, and I absolutely cannot stop listening to these six amazing songs. These guys (and gal) are going to be huge.
MTV Video Music Awards--White Carpet AND Show Coverage!
I've never covered an event in realtime, so I thought I'd give it a shot for the VMAs. Chances are I'll think it's too difficult after the first fifteen minutes and give up, but it's the thought that counts, right?
First and foremost, this is the first image that appears when you search "VMA" on Google: I couldn't look at Britney Spears' picture anymore, so here is my "twin," Emma Stone on the white carpet:
K HERE WE GO. Scroll all the way to the bottom to see pictures!
8:04PST: Paramore interview. Is Hayley the only person that…
Florida trio VersaEmerge (sheesh, I remember when there were five people in that band) have released their video for Fixed at Zero, and.. uhh.. does this song/video remind anyone else reminded of Evanescence? I'll leave it up to you to watch some old music videos on YouTube (there are a lot), because it's really not important enough to spend the time posting all the resemblances here... I mean COME ON, it's like 80 degrees outside! I'm just saying that I felt a sense of deja vu watching Fixed at Zero, and I have a feeling I'm not…
Anberlin releases 'Impossible' music video; Kelly is left mesmerized
How's that for a blog title?
Now for something that everyone can be excited about: Anberlin news!.
The guys have just released their video for Impossible, which you can watch on MTV.com (sidenote: MTV should be renamed to Music Internet, because unless it's 2AM I never see music videos on that channel). I don't know if it's because of the two cups of coffee I just downed, but I am completely mesmerized by this video. The photography is just incredible; the shallow depth-of-field and post-processing make my heart sing.
Stream the Maine's Black and White in its entirety!
The Maine's album Black and White comes out tomorrow, and somehow it hasn't leaked yet (a feat pretty much unheard of in this day and age). If you absolutely cannot wait until tomorrow to hear the album, you can now stream it in its entirety on AOL music. Just click the album and scroll down for the complete playlist.
The caption under their album art states that this album finds the Maine with a more "cohesive, mature sound." Do you agree? What do you guys think of…
What do you think of SYG's new video? Do you think it will encourage people to be mindful of their impact on the world/environment? Let us know in the comments or on Facebook!
Madina Lake holding fundraiser to pay for Matt's medical bills
If you haven't heard yet, Matthew Leone of Madina Lake was brutally beaten when he intervened in a domestic dispute. Nathan, the lead singer and Matt's twin brother, posted the following on their Tumblr earlier this month:
"i’m afraid I have some of the worst news that has ever hit our lives. It’s almost impossible to even type this update. A few nights ago, Matthew walked from my apt. a block and a half down the street to meet a friend for a drink. half way there he saw a man severely beating his wife. Being…
Eminem > everyone else. Especially Miley Cyrus. Warning: Rant ahead.
On Tuesday we learned that Eminem literally obliterated the competition with the release of his album Recovery, with 753,870 copies sold in the first week. Degrassi star, Drake, pushed 156,451 copies of his release, and poor little skankface Miley Cyrus only enticed 106,553 people to buy Can't Be Tamed. Boo hoo.
This just goes to show that horribly revealing leotards and $24,000 dollar hair extensions don't do much in terms of promoting album sales. In fact, Miley's edgy look is hurting her image and her career (don't even get me started on her reputation). At…
So, this might be "old" news to those who like to keep it current, but last week I heard "Airplanes" by B.O.B. featuring Eminem and Hayley Williams. Here are three reasons why this song is FREAKING epic.
1. B.O.B. has some flowing lyrics (Eminem too!)
2. It will catch your attention... and stick to you.
3. Hayley hasn't done anything like this... expanding career? CHEAHHH!!!
I usually don't openly support illegal downloading, but I think the time has come for me to say that anyone who tells you to purchase everything that you listen to is either a) a hypocrite, or b) 70 years old. I've been downloading music since the era of Napster, when it would take 3 hours to download one song on my crappy 28.8K connection. Those were the days--I really cherished every song I downloaded, from Samantha Mumba to LFO (hey, I was like 10 years old, okay?). Nowadays the only music I really purchase are albums…
Ok, so I am a sucker for corny videos with a heart felt message, but no one does cheesy videos like The Spill Canvas. They are one of those bands I personally have put in a category of cliche, but I guess I am a fan of the cliche. Maybe that's the point... I DON'T KNOW!
Anyways, the new video made me realize how much I love to laugh at tragedy, like someone getting hit by a train or squashed by dinosaurs. REALLY, I DO! It's what makes shows like America's Funniest Videos my instant pick me up!
That's right, ladies and gentlemen... this coming Saturday is officially Record Store Day. Never mind the fact that the founder of this day totes the same name as a certain Rihanna-beater (*cough* Chris Brown *cough*); just get out there and buy some music for once in your life!
There are many participating stores in Seattle, and some shops are even hosting live performances in celebration of the event. For example, Minus the Bear will be playing at Sonic Boom in Seattle, and I just found this out and now my heart is shattered into a million…
Oh you haven't? I'm going to let you in on a little/medium/venti secret: Anarbor.
Anarbor is a group of friends from Phoenix, Arizona who make shradical tunes. They fall into the pop rock genre, but they definitely have their own psychedelic spunk. Their record The Words You Don't Swallow is out in stores on 4/20. Yeah, 4/20. Celebrate. I highly recommend you mark your calendars for this one and say hello to your new favorite band.
No, it's not a rumor. Aaron Gillespie has parted ways with the Solid State/Tooth & Nail Records hardcore band Underoath. My heart is so torn! Aaron's been sort of a hero of mine since 2006, when I was just some "scene" kid living in Seattle, Washington. I feel as if Underoath has been a guiding light, leading the way with Aaron as the leader... so without Aaron, what will happen to Underoath?
Honestly, nobody knows for sure. We know that Underoath will go through MAJOR a sound, image, and message change. The same Underoath we see today, Grammy Nominations and…
We Came As Romans have added an April Canadian tour and full US tour in May to their ever-growing schedule, kicking off this Friday, April 8th in Windsor, Ontario. The Michigan sextet just wrapped up a six week full US tour last month alongside Alesana and A Skylit Drive.
We Came As Romans are touring in support of their debut full-length, To Plant A Seed, which has recently been released in the UK and Germany, and will soon be available in Japan. In the US, the album has remained on the Billboard New Artist chart for over 20 weeks. Fans…
"You know your life sucks when Hannah Montana makes you famous."
YES, Trace Cyrus, that means YOU! A few days ago I heard that Metro Gay-shun... I mean, Metro Station called it quits. I'm thinking, "YES, FINALLY! A SUCKY BAND ACTUALLY CALLED IT QUITS! THE MUSIC WORLD ISN'T GOING TO HELL IN A HANDBASKET!!!"
oh, but I was SO wrong.
This morning, I woke up to twitter, as usual. I had a friend stay over in my dorm-room, so I was trying to be as quiet as I could... but, the quiet could NOT be sustained after I…
And the Award for the "Biggest Burn" of the week goes to...
As I was browsing FB status updates since being back in the good ol' U S of A, I stopped when I read, "Omg, thank you Will for finally revealing the truth about Matt on absolutepunk.net It needed to be said." So, I did a little research thus bringing the best award we can metaphorically give. Yes, Will Nutter, you get the "Biggest Burn" of the week.
Here is what He said:
------------------------------- This has been one of the most amazing responses I've ever seen. Thank you so much for keeping an open mind about this all and recognizing that…
Moneta have posted a new song on their Myspace page, and I have to say that I actually like the direction these guys are going in. It's great to watch local bands stick it out through the hard times and evolve into something awesome, even if I wasn't the biggest fan of the music in the first place. At this point Moneta just MAY have won me over (okay, they definitely have).
Plus, their album artwork is amazing:
Don't forget, Moneta's CD release show for Villains is on March 27th…
It's been awhile since I have seen a band/label get so involved with promoting an album over two months before its scheduled release, but in this case I'm definitely not complaining.
You can now pre-order Minus the Bear's OMNI on Amazon. You can also play an OMNI-themed game of Simon Says (AKA Omni Says) on the Minus the Bear website, and let me tell you: It's addicting.
Catch A Rocket to the Moon on the Take Action Tour!
This quartet is currently on the road for the Take Action Tour that spotlights exceptional charities such as this year's featured organization, Driving For Donors. A Rocket to the Moon will be sharing the stage with other incredible acts including We the Kings, Mayday Parade, There For Tomorrow, Stereo Skyline!, and Call the Cops!
Be sure to come out and support a life-altering charity while listening to some awesome music!
Minus the Bear, AKA my favorite band in the entire universe, just signed a contract with a new label (farewell, Suicide Squeeze), and will be releasing their upcoming album with Dangerbird Records (Silversun Pickups, The Dears). Read the label's press blog post below.
More details about Minus the Bear's new album to come on Monday.
For now, listen to Into the Mirror, and bask in the glory that is MTB.
We are proud to announce the signing of Seattle-based rockers Minus the Bear to our burgeoning roster. Dangerbird will release the band’s fourth LP this spring.…
New Circa Survive song? Yep, this definitely deserves an entire blog post.
Forgive my insolence, but I only just now got around to listening to Circa Survive's newest single, Get Out. Tyler posted a news blurb about it a couple of days ago, but you REALLY need to hear this song.
I am seriously blown away right now. Circa have definitely taken their music in a of a different direction, and the result is AMAZING. Go listen to the track on the Circa Survive website.
Circa Survive's album, Blue Sky Noise, drops on 4/20/2010.
... Pete Wentz, the most credible musician in the whole planet (hint to sarcasm), told MTV this weekend that Craig Owens, ex-frontman from Chiodos, is the best artist of 2010. I think it's alright to laugh at Pete Wentz once again.
... During an interview with Jeremiah Edmond, the drummer from Manchester Orchestra, has decided to leave the band under a few conditions, including feeling burnt out from being on the road. All in a days work, right? That's kinda what the job entails. Best of luck to him.
... Fred Mascherino (Taking Back Sunday/The Color…
